There was great representation from North Down on Friday night for the annual Killyleagh 5 mile Road Race. First home was new member Steve Wise, competing in only his second race for North Down. Steve managed an impressive 32.14 over a course where the hills kept rolling one after the other. Gary Swenarton was not far behind in 32.58 with Nick Irvine finding form again after his recent break with 33.11. Trevor Spencer, Ean McClure and Pat O’Driscoll were also out. In the ladies race Ange Perrott took 2nd place in 33.36 and Alison Wise 42.55. The mens race was won by Brendan Tier and the womens race was won by Rosie Daly. (Report by Ange Perrott).
