After two weeks of warm sunshine we returned to more familiar weather for the latest Novosco race at the Mary Peters Track. In wet conditions 13 of our athletes took on the 26th Les Jones 10k, starting and finishing at the track and taking in Upper Malone Rd, Shaws Bridge, the testing hill at Barnetts Demesne and the Lagan Towpath.
David and Alan Massey led the club in with 23rd, 39:08 and 52nd, 41:27. Philip Mulligan had Alan in his sights when he finished 2 seconds later in 41:29, 53rd which was 50 seconds quicker than last year’s outing. Andrew Muir was next a little under a minute later in 64th recording 42:25.
Mick Hall came in 136th with a time of 49:15 and Cliff McCausland was 154th when he crossed the line in 51:03. Caroline Crothers was our first lady home in 185th, 53:38, a couple of minutes ahead of Sandra Hall 55:40 in 206th.
Valerie Blayney followed in 56:19 which was 213th, Gavin McDonnell clocked 57:53 when he was 237th and Paula Simpson was 248th with 58:54.
Completing the NDAC entry were Tracey Hodgson and Andrea Green who weren’t far apart as they finished in 254th and 256th with times of 58:52 and 59:07.
