Over 1600 runners lined up last night in warm, humid conditions for the 10k. The mens race was won by Paddy Hamilton of Annadale Striders in a time of 30 mins 54 seconds. First home for North Down was Simon Seaton in 10th place with 34.32 and Andrew Muir came close to beating his personal best running 41.03. John McGarvey continues to improve his form bettering from his run in Craigavon a few weeks ago and finishing with dead on 47mins. The ladies race was won by Cathy McCourt of North Belfast Harriers in a time of 37.18, first lady home for North Down was Ange Perrott who was 10th female overall and acheived a pb of 43.47. Diane McCaughan finished with a solid run in 54.34. Best in the associated half marathon, which had 1216 finishers, were Francis Marsh, 7th in 74:39 (2nd M40) and James Budde in 16th in 79:17. Ali Robinson, 90:40, and Stephanie Hambling were the top club girls.
