In warm conditions the annual Wednesday evening Lisburn 10K and Half marathon took place with approaching 1300 participating in the 13 mile event while over 2700 ran the 10k.
Francis Marsh maintained his lofty position within the Novosco rankings with 8th place in the 10k, recording 35:30. Chris Downey coasted in with 40:53 which was 52nd followed by Steven Donegan finishing with a time of 43:32, 87th. 10k novice Cameron Jenkins would have been happy with his 46:35 over the trip, right in the heart of the exam season.
Clair Quigley was our first lady in clocking 48:15 and shortly over one minute later Michael Hall crossed the line, 49:30 with Cliff McCausland finishing in 52:30. Valerie Blayney stopped the clock on 54:00 and Sandra Hall recorded 56:17 before Terence Coyne finished with 1:01:26 and Glenn Frazer wrapped up the 11 strong North Down representation with 1:02:44.
Meanwhile 7 ND athletes endured the half marathon distance with Paul Floyd returning first in a time of 1:29:00. Fiona McQuillan came in next in 1:38:11 and was the first of our 2 ladies in the race, Heidi Rodgers finishing in 2:00:50. Christopher Ballentine made it across the line with 1:42:43 which was 5 minutes ahead of John Ferguson who recorded 1:47:48. Mitchell Brown crossed the line in 1:56:00 and John Nolan was 1:56:22 – in the space of this 22 second gap 43 runners finished.
