Lisburn Road Relays

[Not a valid template]North Down fielded teams in the U19 Men and Veteran races and two teams in the Open Men event with Jordan Neil, James Budde and Francis Marsh all doubling up. Jordan was the fastest over two laps and Francis over three., In a well-attended event where virtually everyone was there plus Raheney from Dublin, St Malachys dominated, taking the Open Race apart.

Jordan had a good start in the U19 race and was 2nd to Daniel Quinn after one lap but reversed that in the second lap to put North Down well in the lead. It was probably too big a lead for John Carlisle to handle and he chose the wrong option of going off too fast. It made no difference however with Bermingham of Raheney having a monster run to take the lead and John was 3rd. Robin Brown finished the race with North Down 5th after Ryan Faulkner brought St Malachys to the front.

Tony Wall started the Vets race and finished 4th, a position held by Marcus McAuley. David Seaton was next and brought them up to 3rd but it was back to 4th in the last run by Norman Lelyett. Willowfield were first.

James Budde ran the first leg in the Open Race and was 7th. Francis Marsh took over next and ended in 8th, a position the held by Jordan in a repeat run and James Agar. In the B Team John Saulters started and was 14th. Paul Curran was next and finished in 16th. There were then repeat runs from James Budde and Francis with Francis picking up a place to finish in 15th. St Malachys were first after leading most of the way
