London Marathon

Francis Marsh had a stressful build up to the London Marathon with a strained hamstring playing up and pressure from a volcano in Iceland but made it to the line with a substantial amount raised for his charity. In the event his hamstring held up but very sore quads resulted in cramp behind the knee. He finished 246th in 2:42.53, a little bit slower than hoped but highly creditable. All the North Down runners did well with Ali Robinson 265th female in a pb of 3:19.48, husband Simon Robinson in 3:22.34, , Stephen Purdie 3:29.38,  Michael Jenkins 3:30.47 and Paul Galloway4:19.30. Apologies to others not yet picked up but it’s a big database.
