The weekend included races at each of the above venues and we had success in each of them. Catherine Roberts was 3rd with a time of 42:02 in the Born 2 Run 10k which took place around the Loughgall estate, the third race in the Run Forest Run series.
Meanwhile Darren Hamilton found a 4 mile race in Newry to do on Sunday. In contrast to the conventional Christmas cracker in Castlewellan this cracker was half distance at 4 miles and Darren completed the route in 23:00. Leading comfortably at halfway his rivals were catching him approaching the line but Darren’s speed served him well with a 1st place finish.
The Griddle 10k, hosted by East Down and Saul GAC, included Andrew Muir on Sunday. Despite suffering from a broken rib Andrew completed the tough, hilly course in 49:30 which positioned him 67th.
Gavin McDonnell competed at the Ballygalget 10k Santa run and finished 17th clocking 51:40.
