For Matthew Martin, pb"s come in 2m increments. On the last day of the UK School Games on Sunday in Cardiff, he blitzed his own club U17 record with the 700g javelin to finish 4th with 56.69m. Kathy Hetherington at discus also threw well to finish 5th with 31.37m. On Saturday on the first day of the athletics segment, Gareth Irvine had the best result of the club athletes taking part. Gareth competed at discus and his throw of 45.17m was fractionally below his seasons best and he finished 5th. Katie Dickson and Kerrie Craig were well down on their best and clearly suffering from the absence of recent competition. Katie was 11th at triple jump with 10.47m and Kerrie was 12th at high jump with 1.50m.
