[Not a valid template]There was no change in the top 3 positions as the inaugural ANI Cross Country League concluded at Stormont on Saturday at the Civil Service meeting. North Down mens team finished 3rd behind Willowfield and North Belfast, leaving them 3rd in the final league table behind North Belfast and City of Derry. In the event, not sending a team to the North West Championships in Derry 4 days before Christmas proved insuperable. Nevertheless it has proved a rewarding experience for the mens team. On Saturday Francis Marsh, James Budde, Dennis Scott and Glen Willis were the scoring team and with 13 finishers, there were maximum bonus points so its full marks to everyone who turned out. Francis had a bonanza, also taking the M45 prize, top veteran, the Civil Service Championship and was part of the winning Inter- Services winning team.
North Down men had 13 finishers on Saturday and used 27 in all in the league. They were 2nd once, 3rd three times; 5th in the Senior Championships (an open event) and missed one event. Well done to all who have competed in any of the events.
