A new venture for the club was the successful promotion of the Cross Country Relays in Castle Park which attracted a good entry. Inaugural winners were Willowfield, Lagan Valley and North Belfast in the Senior Men, Senior Women and Veteran events. North Down however were second in both the mens (Michael Dyer, Francis Marsh, James Budde and John Saulters) and veterans (George Bell, John Quiery and Marcus McAuley) events as well as having B and C teams in both races. We also won the u14 boys race with Michael Patterson, Perry Jolley and Mark Patterson while the U16 girls were 3rd.
