Last Sunday some of our youngest athletes made the trip to Clones, Co Monaghan for the NI and Ulster age-group championships.
Tilly McWhinney won the U12 shot with 8.44m and later added Turbo Javelin gold with a 16.15m PB. Charlie Lawden was also on the podium thanks to a 23.84m PB for javelin bronze.
Hannah Lawden also qualified for the All-Ireland championships in Tullamore in July with a throw of 14.63m for 4th place, as did Niamh Fenlon in the U13 long jump with 3.72m. The U12 relay 4x100m squad of Stephanie Bell, Tilly McWhinney, Hannah Lawden and Anna Cousins also managed a respectable 4th place in 63.61 secs. Poppy Dann competed in the U13 80m, 12th and went one better in the Long Jump finishing 11th.
Well done to these and all the other NDAC athletes who made the trip to Clones.
