There was another good turnout especially from the womens team at a sunny Stormont for the Civil Service promotion and perhaps the last cross country race of the season, on home ground at any rate. Six women and seven men turned out for the senior races with three more girls in the age-groups while Glen Willis running for Kilmaine PS was second in the 1000m Primary School race in 4.40.
In the 3.5 mile Open Womens race Hilary Kernaghan was 7th in 24.28, Stephanie Hambling 8th in 25.07, Debbie Matchett 10th in 25.36, Kerry Iveston 13th in 26.18, Nicola Simpson 17th in 27.26 and Lynne Kerr 18th in 28.13. The race was won by Karen Marshall from Suzanne McCormick and Louise McLean. In the 5 mile Mens Open Ian Atkinson was 56th in 33.18, Marcus McAuley 60th in 33.43, Brian Smith 62nd in 33.56, David Seaton 63rd in 34.09, Norman Lellyett 66th in 35.01, Neil O”Driscoll 78th in 38.10 and Hugh Young 83rd in 40.14. The race was won by Dean Fisher from Alan McCullough and Greg Walsh.
Lauren Scott was 3rd in the 3K U17 race in 12.08 with Jessica Craig 4th in 12.37. Leigh McWha was 4th U15 in 14.06
