The NIVA 5 miler in Ormeau Park is an open race but, being promoted by the Vets Association, it tends to attract all the top vets. This year it was all about the M40 age group with Paul Rowan in 25:34 min winning from Alan McCullough in 25:40 min. Francis Marsh was next M40 and led home the North Down contingent in 26:40 min for 6th overall. Simon Seaton was 13th and Ian Atkinson 25th while Brian Barron continued his excellent road racing form by taking the M18 prize with 23rd overall in 30:55 min. Lynne Kerr and Hilary Kernaghan were F45 and F40 winners respectively with Ange Perrott and Jill Dowie also showing good form.North Down results
