Heading the line-up for the North Down Games is Olympic 4×100 relay Gold medallist Mark Lewis-Francis. Mark will compete in both sprints and comes here having ran 10.10 seconds in Italy at the weekend. Northern Ireland sprinters will oppose Mark in the 200m with Paul Brizzel and Paul McKee looking for seasons bests. European Indoor 400m champion David Gillick will take on some top international sprinters in the 400m. A high quality field starts the programme with the womens hammer, with current British number one Shirley Webb facing athletes from the Ukraine and Norway as well as the best the UK has to offer. British number one Nick Nieland will face local javelin throwers Michael Allen and Ben Houghton, as well as several 80m plus European throwers. Bangor’s Eva Massey faces Jana Karnikova of the Czech Republic and the cream of British shot putters.
