The Annual General Meeting of Athletics Northern Ireland was held on Wednesday and before the meeting commenced Trophies were presented to the winning teams in the 2012-13 Cross Country League by President Gerry Lynch. They were Women – North Down A.C. and Men – City of Derry Spartans. Receiving the trophy on behalf of all the North Down girls were Ladies Captain Sarah Benton and International runner Jessica Craig.
Two motions were passed at the meeting. One was to move the commencement of the athlete registration year from 1st January each year to 1st April to bring it into line with Club affiliations. This will be effective from April 2014. The second motion is to restrict the maximum continuous service of office bearers to six years. This regulation will take effect immediately but will not be retrospective.
The Club Affiliation fee will remain at £100 per club and athlete registrations remain at £8 for adults and £3 for ages 13 to 16. These are payable now for the coming year (to March 2014). Registrations made since January remain valid.
