Callum Hunter is the Northern Ireland Junior (U20) Decathlon Champion after competing for two days over the weekend at a very blustery Antrim Stadium (there were no Senior entrants). Callum won the opening 100m on Saturday morning in 11.39 sec and from that point he retained the overall lead, finishing his first decathlon with 5419 points. In the Junior Womens heptathlon, Clare Robinson finished in third place with 3090 points.
Callums’s full scores were 100m 11.39 (+1.9) 776 points; long jump 6.07 (nwr) 602 pts; shot 10.49 515 pts; high jump 1.80 627 pts; 400m 53.53 659 pts; 110m hurdles 16.56 (-2.9) 671 pts; discus 23.42 337 pts; pole vault 3.00 357 pts; javelin 36.62 393 pts; 1500m 5:13.95 482 pts for a total of 5419 points.
Clare posted 100m hurdles 16.38 (+1.9); high jump 1.28; shot 6.25; long jump 4.66 (nwr); javelin 16.11; 800m 2:46.41
