The Norwich Union “Fun in Athetics” Roadshow opened it’s Ulster tour at Bangor Castle Leisure Centre and over the next two weeks will visit Cookstown, Magherafelt, Larne, Derry, Lisburn, Irvinestown, Donegal, Antrim and Coleraine.
Seven North Down Primary Schools competed in the morning session with Ballyholme leading from Central and Sullivan Upper Prep. In the afternoon there were five schools from Bangor and the Ards Peninsular with Donaghadee taking the honours from Newtownards Model and Towerview.
Distinguished visitors included the Mayor of North Down, double Commonwealth Games High Jump Gold Medallist, Milton Ottey from Canada and GB international decathlete Brendan McConville.
