Tom Reynolds twice vaulted pbs on Day 1 of the Irish Indoor Championships over the weekend, finishing in 2nd place with a club indoor record of 4.70m. Kathy Hetherington also medalled on Saturday night with a bronze at shot putt and a best of 9.58m. In the middle distance qualifying rounds Niall Robinson at 1500m and Mark Patterson at 800m both reached the final in impressive style. Niall ran 3:63.71 min for a new club record and Mark had the fastest qualifying time with 1:51.81 min, just short of his pb of a week or so ago. Sunday"s finals were rather physical with a tactical 1500m and a brutal 822m and Niall and Mark both came away with 5th. Silver medals on Sunday went to UUJ athletes Sara Semeraro, 3.65m at pole vaultm and Amy Foster, 60m with a pb of 7.44 secs. Tom on Sunday reached the semis at 60m and 60m hurdles but with a troublesome back, pulled out of the hurdles final James Budde and Jordan Stokes at 1500m and Kenny Elliott at 60m were other club athletes involved over the weekend.
