Our Man Down Under

Quite how backpacking round Asia works as Half Marathon preparation still has to be determined.  Stephen Wylie’s travels, after several months took him to Australia where he took the North Down vest into the Melbourne Half Marathon. Holding a top 15  place at that level and still moving, looked good at the 7  mile mark but then he fell after hitting a speed bump (shades of Bangor). That was it though he got up and hobbled to the end  and finished in 1:28. A disappointing result but he does seem philosophical about it.
