Matthew Martin threw a pb on Thursday morning in the javelin qualification at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Turkey. His throw of 62.72m was a metre and one position off the overall qualification to the final of 63m or top 12. He was 5th in his group in the qualification behind strong Eastern European competion and one place overall behinfd the GB representative. His season is by no means over as his focus will now change to the Commonweatlth Youth Games in the Isle of Man in September where the experience will be invaluable.
