Bad weather undoubtedly kept the numbers down on Tuesday evening at the Portaferry Gala 10 mile road race with 152 finishers – well down on recent years. Ten club athletes braved the wet condititions with Julie Balmer the first of them in 10th overall and 2nd woman. She also regained the club 10 mile record with a pb of 64:35 min. Terry Eakin was the first of the club men and was another category winner, taking the M60’s in 65:04. Jessica Craig was the 4th woman in her first ever 10 mile race in a very respectable 67:53 and Melissa Eccles also ran well in her first outing over the distance
