The north coast was a popular attraction for road racing this weekend as Portrush and Rathlin Island hosted their annual events, and that was before Larne hosted the Antrim Coast half marathon on Sunday.
Darren Hamilton made his annual trip to Portrush on Friday in the company of Paul Floyd and Pat O’Driscoll and recorded 30:49 which was enough for 28th place and 2nd age category. Paul came in 36th timed at 33:07 and Pat 51:00 for 188th.
On Saturday a handful of our athletes caught the ferry across to Rathlin island for the 20thstaging of their challenging 10 mile road race. Alasdair Mair finished in 5th, 1st O35 spot in a time of 1:08:29 followed by Michael Boyd 8th, 1:11:07 2nd O45.
Clair Quigley was 16thoverall and 3rd female, 1st O40 as she recorded 1:15:47. Abby Andrews completed in 1:27:06 and was 3rd in her age category, 44th overall and Donald Smith finished in 1:28:21 which placed him 52nd.
