Power NI Super Five, Meeting 3

On Thursday, Lagan Valley AC hosted the third  of their Power NI sponsored ‘Super 5’ meetings,  with much improved weather and wall to wall sunshine.  This time the sprint hurdle, 400m and 3000m races were the featured track  events.  North Down contestants  were from the Fundamentals Group and from Seniors, neatly book-marking the ages.

Zac Monaghan, Dylan Galloway, Megan Drummond, Katie Kimber and Rachael White were the primary schoolkids  there, all doing well. Zac was 5^th hurdler and 2^nd over 400m with Dylan 9^th and 12^th. Megan was a classy 2^nd at hurdles and Rachael  and Katie 3^rd and 5^th at javelin. Remember there are fields of up to 40 at these ages.

In the senior events, the club had 5 in the 400m, half of a strong field.  Adam McComb is in a great spell of form and led the event in 49.58 sec. Francis Marsh, Ciaran Farren and Stephanie Hambling all ran in the Senior 3000m, Francis running an excellent 4^th and 1^st Master in 9:13.83 and Stephanie 2^nd Female in 11:28.51.
