The club had 16 runners out in the Glens of Antrim for the first race of 2006. The Race over the Glens is a tough off-road trail race from Glenariff Forest Park over 5.5 miles of very hilly terrain. Simon Seaton was first club runner home in 41st with Tony Wall 52nd and Marcus McCauley 61st. David Seaton, Norman Lellyett and Brian Smith took the first three M60 slots and Hugh Young was first M65. Stephanie Hambling was first club woman home in 123rd overall and 5th woman with Emer Quinn 10th woman. The race was won by Gregory Walsh of Ballymena Runners from Gareth Arnott of Willowfield and Gareth Hill of Ballymena and Antrim with Anne Paul first woman. There were 218 finishers.
