On an icy weekend that brought disruption to many sporting fixtures as waterlogged pitches froze and the frost glistening on roads and paths decimated local parkruns, four North Down AC runners headed to Loughgall in Co Armagh on Saturday 6th January for the third of Born 2 Run’s “Run Forest Run” race series. On arrival in the orchard county the heavy frost looked ominous, but fine work by the race organisers ensured the scenic, hilly 10k course around Loughgall Forest park was safe for the runners. The first North Down runner to finish was Roberta Dornan in 45:38 taking 3rd female place. Ben O’ Driscoll was next to complete the undulating route in 49:31. Sandra Hall finished in 1:00:41 and Pat O’Driscoll completed the North Down finishing quartet in 1:17:30.
