Robin Brown led the Cambridge Uni mens team to victory over Oxford Uni after 3 years of defeat in the annual varsity XC match held on Wimbledon Common over 7.5miles. Robin lead the race by 40 metres after 15 minutes racing but former Oxford Uni winner Richard Franzese caught Robin after he took a wrong turn. A head to head ensued, but a recent heavy cold left Robin unable to hold position and he eventually came in 2nd (38:56 to the winners 38:40). Robin could make his next appearance in a North Down vest in the NI Senior XC champs on 21st Jan at Antrim and bolster team strength.
