Darren Hamilton nearly went a full year without running a marathon but couldn’t resist the temptations of the Loch Rannoch marathon.
Run around the picturesque Loch Rannoch, measuring roughly 10 miles from end to end, the perimeter is fairly flat with a few undulating sections built in for good measure.
Darren made a good job on his return to the marathon distance with a 3:06 finishing time which placed him 3rd vet and 15th overall. Andy Belshaw got round the course in 3:20:41 which provided him with a 32nd place finish. A couple of weeks now until Dublin – you wait a year and then two come along together.
