The Scrabo Hill Race on Friday evening included the NIMRA Junior Championship and trials for the British and Irish Junior Home International to be held this year in the Republic in October but only just over the border at Slieve Foye near Carlingford. The 5 North Down runners in the Junior race (1 lap, 2 miles, 500ft) all had good runs including Jessica Craig and Lauren Scott, 1st and 3rd in the U16 girls race, and Mark Patterson, 2nd in the U14 boys race with Thomas Simpson and Michael Patterson also well placed. In addition Kerry Iveston was 2nd U18 girl in the Senior race (2 laps, 3 mile,750ft). All could be involved in one form or another at Carlingford.
James Agar and Roma McConville also went well in the Senior race, won by Deon McNeilly from Richard Rodgers with Kerry Harty winning the womens race.
