Seán Nickell was back in action in the trails on Sunday 7th May as he ran from Belfast Castle to Carrickfergus Castle. Most people attempting that 9 mile journey would drive along the Antrim Road, drop down the Whitewell Road and continue along the Shore Road. We Run Wild NI found a more challenging option turning the journey into a 50k off road race (with a marathon option) along forest trails and farm tracks over Cave Hill and Carmoney with a diversion to the Knockagh Monument and Woodburn reservoirs before the finish line at Carrickfergus Castle. Seán finished second in the 50k ultra category in 5:35:11.
