With snow and ice widespread throughout the Province, City of Lisburm’s Moira cross country was the only major event surviving the conditions on Saturday. With Championship events on the Sturdays before and after the Moira event, only three North Down athletes opted for it but it was another successful meeting, The Open and Master Ladies race was won outright by in‑form Stephanie Hambling in 17:00 min with Rachel Gibson 3rd in 17:18. Catriona McCorkill of Lagan Valley took silver in 17:10. The equivalent mens’ race was won by Andrew Hill of Dromore in 19:50 with North Down’s Lloyd Hannigan 11th in 22:11.
At the Vicyoria Park parkrun, Ange Perrott won the ladies race in a good time of 21:01 min. Stephen Mulvenna ran 22:02 and Angela Fawthrop 26:32.
