Rachel Gibson and Jessica Craig made the trip to Manchester for the prestigious British Milers Club meet. Both athletes took part in the 1500M and they took advantage of the high class opposition posting fast times.
Jessica ran a pb time of 4:35:88 while Rachel ran a season’s best of 4:33:16 which wasn’t far off her pb time.
On Sunday five of our athletes made the long road trip to Strabane to complete the half marathon race to Lifford. Eamonn O’Reilly took the honours as first NDAC athlete home with a time of 1:27:36 and claimed 51st place. Alan Massey broke the 1:30 barrier with a 1:29:57, great running following the Les Jones 10K less than 48 hrs earlier. Philip Mulligan, who also raced 10K on Friday evening, managed a pb time of 1:35:03 and Simon Sexton finished in 1:42:08. The 1 lap, 400M track finish, for the 2nd time in 3 days, inspired Clare Russell to a time of 2:03:48.
