The second round of the Edwards & Co Super 5 Series was held at Mary Peters on Thursday night. Again there were big numbers and it was very late when the 800m races were held.. In the senior mens 800m Niall Robinson followed pacemaker Adam Ingram to the 600m mark and struck out for home just being overhauled at the tape by Patrick Brennan of Letterkenney. The light was so bad that there were 19 runners and no photofinish but Niall registered 1:56.4 min hand timed. Jeremy Harper threw 43.63m in the senior discus. In the U15 events Niall McGrattan won javelin with a massive improvement of his pb with 37.87m. Alex Catherwood high jumped 1.35m and ran 31.04 sec at 200m while Sam McKibbin ran 2:26.24 at 800m. In the U17"s Beth Wilson won the discus with 28.34m and javelin with 21.47m , Matthew Hamilton won at 200m in 24.34 sec while Louis Atkinson was second at discus with 27.04m and Brogan Marsh ran 30.08 at 200m.
