Teddy Hall Relays – Oxford

Robin Browne & Francis Marsh competed in the 80th edition of the annual Teddy Hall relays, which were held in Oxford on Wednesday (11th March).  The starting gun was fired by Sir Roger Bannister at the famous Iffley Road track where he first broke the 4 minute mile, with each of the four 3.6m legs starting and finishing on the track"s back straight. Robin & Francis both ran 3rd leg – for Cambridge University Hare & Hounds and Herne Hill Harriers respectively.  Each leg took the runners around a loop through the outskirts of the historic town centre and along the Thames towpath – with a final 300m run-in around the track. Robin came in 3rd for a reasonably strong CUH&H team in 19:14, while Francis moved a fairly weak HHH team up 17 places to 8th with 18:38. Robin"s CUH&H team went on to finish 2nd in an event with over 110 teams from, universities, colleges, clubs, services & sports clubs.
