Oliver Wakefield won the U15 Star of Down Award for the best overall athlete over the year for a county Down athlete in AAI Ulster competitions. He was presented with the award on Friday evening in Monaghan at a dinner where the outstanding athletes from each county received a similar honour. Oliver had a clean sweep in Ulster 9 county competition, winning long jump and 60m hurdles at the Indoor Championships at the Odyssey and long jump and 80m at the Outdoor Championships, all by substantial margins.
