It was U20 and U23 Championship time in both UK and Ireland, the UK one over the weekend at Bedford and the Irish one at a very windy Tullamore on Sunday. At Bedford Ben Reynolds was 2nd in 14.04 sec in the U23 110m hurdles behind Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Lawrence Clarke. At Bedford Hannah Lewis was thwarted once more by wind but won the U23 long jump with 6.00m and was 2nd in her fastest-ever but windy 200m in 24.44 sec (+4.0). Kathy Hetherington was just outside the medals in the U20 discus, 4th with 34.92m. Back to the U23’s – Lauren Scott was 4th at 1500m in 4:38.95, Rachel Gibson was 5th at 800m in 2:30.39 and Niall Robinson was 6th at 1500m in 3:59.10 min.
