North Down members competing in Bath over the weekend at the UK Schooll Games were Gareth Irvine, 9th at discus with 36.59m, Kathy Hetherington, 10th at discus with 26.23m and Katie Dickson, 10th at triple jump with 10.52m. The three members of the Northern Ireland Commonwealth Youth Games squad who were young enough to attend the UK School Games all had encouragingly good results with Ciara Mageean and Curtis Woods winning at 1500m and 400m respectively and Gaby McNally 2nd at hammer while Joanna Mills won at 300m and Christine McMahon was 2nd at 300m hurdles.
