All the club athletes competing in the Friday evening session of the Ulster Schools Championships made it through to the Irish Schools. There were wins for Jordan Neil at Intermediate 3000m, Richard Lockhart at Senior Hammer, David Keys at Intermediate Hammer and Ben Reynolds at Junior Pole Vault while Peter Abernethy, Peter Glass and Sophie Reynolds all placed in their Vault competitions.
With his main competitor out injured, Jordan was not going to get a fast race and he settled for winning a tactical race in 9:15.5 with a strong burst over the last two laps.
Richard won the Senior Hammer with 47.50m again increasing his pb (and club record) with the 6Kg implement. David was under family pressure when sister Rachel won the Junior Hammer earlier with 23.26m and responded by winning his event with 45.32m.
Ben won the Junior Vault with 3.01m while sister Sophie was 3rd in the Intermediate girls with a new club record of 2.25m. In the Senior event, Peter Abernethy was 2nd with 3.50m and Peter Glass 3rd with 3.30m.
