It was a highly successful evening for North Down juvenile track & field athletes at the recent Ulster Athletics Council Star Awards held on Friday 18th November in Monaghan, with five of our top young athletes being recognised for their performances in 2016.
Awards are made for each county in two age groups based solely on performances at the Ulster indoor & outdoor Age Group Championships and it was almost a clean sweep for NDAC athletes who won three of the four awards on offer for Co. Down.
Murphy Miller took the girls 12-15yrs category having won the U15 800m at Ulster Indoor Age Groups before following it up in the summer with an impressive 800m/1500m double at the outdoor championships.
