Ulster Track Relay Championships

The Northern Ireland and Ulster Relay Championships took place on Saturday at the Templemore track in Derry. In the 4 x 100m series, North Down boys were 1st at U15 level in 50.50 sec while the U15 girls were 2nd to Ballymena and Antrim in 56.86. At U17 level, this was reversed with the girls 1st in 53.47 and the boys 2nd  to Ballymena and Antrim in 48.65.

Swedish Relays consist of progressive laps of 100m, 200m, 300m and 400m.  At U15 level, North Down boys were 1st in 2:18.84 min and the U15 girls 2nd in 2:54.93. At U17 level, it was North Down all the way with the boys winning in 2:12.6 and the girls taking this in 2:34.3.

There were also Mixed 4 x 200m Relays with 2 boys and 2 girls per team and the order optional. The North Down U15 team won in 1:48.71 min and The U17 team was 2nd in 1:48.24.

As yet, we have not been informed of the composition of the teams, though it wouldn’t be hard to guess.
