The uneven age group part of the Northern Ireland and Ulster Junior Championships were held on Saturday at a very muddy Barnetts Park prior to the Bobby Rea Races with a healthy turnout from the North Down squad. In big fields, Mark Carberry was 47th in the U11 boys race and in the U13 boys race Charlie McNutt was 24th, Matthew Crowther 27th and Craig McMeechan 34th. In the U15 girls there was a scoring team of Claire Francis 36th, Zara Mulholland 42nd, Chloe Johnston 50th and Niamh Cummings 56th while Charlie Quinn was 39th in the U15 boys. Abbey Taylor was 18th in the U17 girls race and in the U17 boys Glen Willis was 9th, Roger Dawson 29th and Jamie McMeechan 44th. It was gtood to see so many youngsters out, by far the biggest turnout for a good while.
