Lauren Scott kept the Birmingham University C team in 5th place in the Manchester University XC relays. Lauren ran a solid 14:19 on the last of three 2.1m legs – despite a recent cold – to keep the C team in a high 5th place out of 43 teams. Robin Brown finished 2nd in the Cambridge Uni Hare & Hounds Freshers run while clocking 15:49 for the 5.17k course (chopping 40secs off his 2008 timing) – helping Jesus College to win the team race. Further south, St Mary"s based John Carlisle finished a solid 24th (29:10) in the Surrey League Div 1 race over the hilly Reigate Priory course to help Herne Hill win the opening race.Uni round-up
