John Saulter (QUB) was in good form on Friday and Saturday at the new Irishtown Stadium in Dublin where the Irish University Athletic Championships were held. At 200m, John ran a pb of 22.36 in the semi-final before finishing 6th in the final in 22.62. Despite being only the third North Down athlete to break 11 seconds at 100m, his time of 10.87 missed out on finals qualification, leaving him 9th overall.
Neil Dougan (UUJ) was 6th at Hammer with 25.03, 6th at Javelin with 39.08 and 8th at 56lb Weight for Distance with 5.82. The 56lb Weight result is a North Down Senior Record although Jeremy Harper beat 6 metres when guesting at Mazda Round 2 at Santry last year in an unpublished event.
Michael Dyer also showed good early season form at Loughborough with 1:56.2 for 800m.
