Robin Brown, who had an outstanding Varsity Match debut, was 2nd scorer for Cambridge Spartans (the second eight) and 4th overall when Oxford and Cambridge second, third and fourth squads met at Shotover, Oxford on Saturday where the sole Cambridge success came in the mens fourths match. The Blues Match is in London on 1st December. Robin ran the hilly course in 30:54 min and was one of the leading pack of four throughout despite suffering with a chest infection in the later stages. Meanwhile at the All Ireland Even Age Championships at Curragh Camp on Sunday Brian Barron and Matt McMullan had good runs in the U16 Championships and were 39th and 76th in a strong field.
