[Not a valid template]Francis Marsh had by far the best half marathon time in recent North Down history on Saturday in the Waterside event, the Northern Ireland Championship race, in Derry. With a top six finish (ignoring relay teams) in 73:45 minutes, Francis comfortably inside the 75 min he needed to meet the London Marathon UK champs standard. Another huge run came from Les Wilkinson 84:52 min while Fred Murdoch ran 103:32 min and Lynne Kerr 110:16 min. In glorious autumn sunshine, there were 840 finishers. Francis was 3rd M40, Les 3rd M50, Fred 2nd M65 and Lynne 3rd F45.
