A busy weekend for North Down athletes not only ventured into Waterford and Loughborough but races closer to home also.
Jakob Swann had a great win at the Downpatrick Rollercoaster races as he completed the 2.5K boys (15 and under) race ahead of the rest. Megan Briggs was also close to a win as she finished 2 seconds behind the winner in the girls (15 and under) race to claim 2nd spot. Niamh Fenton was 3rd in the remaining junior girls (13 and under) race.
At the Carlingford Half marathon Adam Ferguson and Andrew Muir recorded two personal bests as they finished in 5th, Adam, in 1:18:51 and 22nd, Andrew, in 1:26:25.
Shanes Castle was the venue for the latest Atlas running series of races. Roberta Dornan ran the half marathon and succeeded in coming 2nd in a time of 1:37:41 while Clare Smith chose this event as her 2nd half marathon ever to endure the elements and finish in 2:04:47 alongside clubmate Nicola Newell. Micheal Stevenson ran for 8:31:05 as he finished 13th in the Ultra.
