Tony Wall was the only runner from the club in Derry at the Junior and Vets Championships where, in very soft going, he ran in the 5 miles Vets Championship. Tony was 49th in 32:48 min and was 4th M50. James Budde and John Carlisle were looking for faster action but found only easy pickings in a 1 mile road mile in Belfast. Philip Browne opened his indoor season at the Lee Valley where he competed for the University of Bath in the South of England Championships, posting 5.95m for long jump and 7.38 sec for 60m. Conditions in Cambridge on Sunday were also very marshy and windy for the 8Km Fen Ditton cross country event. Robin Brown was 8th overall in 30:49 min and was second scorer for Jesus College who were first maintaining a perfect record in the Cambridge Colleges League
