Greyabbey 12 hour Endurance Challenge, 12/07/25
No stranger to endurance challenges, although this time no swimming or cycling was involved first, one of North Down’s Ironman triathletes Kim McCourt tackled the Gaithouse Events 12 hour race on a warm and sunny 12th July. The objective was to complete as many 5.5k laps around the Grayabey estate as possible within 12 hours. Kim finished 4th over all and 3rd female covering 15 laps or 82.5km / over 51 miles in 11:26:43.

Kilclief Ben Dearg Coastal Run, 13/07/25
It was a North Down AC 1-2 for Mickael Le Nu and Declan Magee at the Killed 10k coastal run on Sunday. Mickael ran strongly on the undulating 10k route by the southern end of Strangford Lough to win in 36:12. Clubmate Declan Magee was second in 37:57 and Gerard Adair finished in 50:57. Selina Patchett missed the turning point on the 5k but completed the 10k instead in a PB of 1:00:38.
George Emerson 32:18 and Donna Sinclair 34:57 raced in the 5k.

Termonfeckin Half Marathon 13/07/25
Sarah Gibson headed to the banks of the River Boyne for the Termonfeckin Half Marathon on Sunday. Starting and finishing on the outskirts of Drogheda the course followed a roughly triangular shorter lap followed by a longer lap on a warm day for racing.
Sarah finished 2nd female in 1:32:44.

Irish National Outdoor Juvenile Championships, 12-13/07/25
Several of North Down’s track and field athletes were in action at Tullamore over the weekend in the national outdoor juvenile championships.
Sophie Rankin finished 7th in the U14G 1500m in 5:06.07.
Travis Truesdale ws 5th in his heat of the U15B 200m in 25.26.
Matthew Knight took gold winning the U19B 400m hurdles in 57.80.
On Sunday the U16G 4x100m relay team of Erin Coard, Charlotte Allen, Devon Booth and Eva Patton came 5th in their heat in 53.18
