weekly roundup 31/08/25 Coastal 5k, Tullamore Half Marathon

Coastal 5k, 29/08/25

Glenlough Running Club’s annual coastal 5k race is one of the most scenic road runs in Northern Ireland; runners are bussed from the start line in the County Antrim village of Glenarm to the start line at Carnlough before a flat, fast road run back to Glenarm with stunning sea views on their left all the way. North Down AC’s James Gage made the trip up the coast last Friday evening, completing the race in 25:41.

Tullamore Half Marathon, 30/08/25

This year’s Tullamore Half Marathon hosted the Irish National Half Marathon Championships. Almost 1200 runners headed  to the Co Offaly town on Saturday for the half marathon through gently rolling countryside before finishing on the track in the athletics stadium. The wind and rain which grew stronger as the race progressed challenged athlete even further, however North Down AC’s Sarah Gibson powered through the hills and rain to take the silver medal in the F55 age group in 1:30:16.
