North Down javelin guru Paddy McGrattan was named in the support staff when Athletics Ireland announced a full team to attend the 2nd European Team Championship to be held in Budapest (HUN) on June 19-20. Ireland’s top athletes captained by speedy stars Derval O’Rourke and Paul Hession will be aiming to secure a strong team standing at the end of the weekend after securing promotion to the First Division in last year’s event. Paddy’s squad, headed by the two Matthews, Martin and Stockton and including his sons Conor and Niall, continues to dominate javelin in Ulster and he has also been making regular trips to Tullamore to oversee the Ireland squad in the event.
