The womens Senior Track & Field Team has been in top form this season and on Sunday they retained the Northern Ireland Team Trophy. Well led and augmented by a group of talented youngsters moving up, they took the bragging rights away from their male counterparts who found themselves sandbagged by a well-organised Olympian team. Their ten year tenure of the trophy came to an end despite a late flurry of results which took them to within two points of retaining it. A positive was that the men also took the opportunity to bring in some younger blood, who all had encouraging results as well as providing enthusiasm.
